1-2 large slices of older bread
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried parsley
Olive oil
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking tray with foil and set aside.
Cut or tear bread into 1/2" squares. Put in a large bowl, and give a few healthy sprays of olive oil. Toss with hands until all the bread is thoroughly coated.
Add all herbs/spices and using your hands toss again. If more olive oil is needed spray again.
Spread in a single layer on foil lined tray, careful to ensure croutons aren't overlapping. Bake for 8-10 minutes, and then remove from oven. Using a spatula toss around to ensure even cooking. Place back in the oven for an additional few minutes. Keep checking as you don't want them to burn.
Once lightly browned, remove from oven and cool completely on tray. Place directly in your salad and enjoy!
