Cinnamon Crackle Cookies


1/2 c dairy free butter

1/2 c shortening

1 c granulated sugar

1/2 c packed brown sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)

2-1/2 c ap flour

1 tbs ground cinnamon

2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp cream of tartar

2 tsp ground nutmeg

1/2 tsp salt

Additional sugar for rolling dough


Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.


in the bowl of a stand mixer on medium, combine dairy free butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and combine again. Add all remaining ingredients and mix on medium.


Roll dough into one to 1 to 1 1/2” in diameter balls. Roll that ball in the extra granulated sugar.


Place on the cookie sheet about 3 inches apart, these do spread quite a bit. I only had about five cookies on each sheet.


Bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Leave on the train to call for at least 10 minutes, cookies should darken in color. Transfer to a cooling rack to finish cooling and enjoy!
